Mercury Retrograde begins January 14, 2022

Mercury Retrograde begins January 14, 2022

The first Mercury retrograde of 2022 begins on January 14 at 10° Aquarius (until January 25) and descends to 24º Capricorn on February 3, 2022.

Mercury retrograde is generally associated with delays, roadblocks and diversions, misunderstandings in communications, delays in business transactions and negotiations, loss and technical failures.

This January 2022 Mercury retrograde can be extra tricky. While going retrograde, Mercury is conjunct Saturn (13º) and impulsive and freedom-loving asteroid Icarus (10° Aquarius).
Mercury retrograde conjuncts the limiting factor Saturn and square still retrograde Uranus in Taurus is extra difficult, because we tend to dwell more on things, think negatively, dig op skeletons or people from the past are come along to set things right.

Mercury retrograde in Aquarius (until January 26, 2022) is mainly about social relationships, especially in the run-up to the Full Moon in Cancer on January 17, 2022, but also on a personal level it is about getting appreciation, both at home and at work.
Especially now with the shift of the Lunar Nodes, a new 18-month cycle of emotional release and purification begins when there is social inequality.

Harsh or critical words can lead to relationship problems such as distance, isolation or rejection.
The square of Mercury retrograde to retrograde Uranus in Taurus (10º) can bring an unexpected change in the daily routine that you do not want and lead to frustration and rebellion as personal freedoms and rights can be restricted.

Mercury square Uranus brings unexpected change and unpredictability to your daily routine and interactions. Think of disturbing news or being forced to change plans. This can be the cause of anxiety, stress and nervousness, poor concentration and impulsive behavior, trouble listening, being distracted or just changing your mind.
Be careful what you say and more importantly, how you say something. Be careful with sending messages on Social MedIa, because it’s about the content now.

Don’t speak out of turn and don’t get angry when someone tries to get out of your comfort zone, because not everyone can be trusted.
Take some distance when things get too much in this absurd time. First, think carefully and choose your words carefully.
Avoid signing contracts and important documents during this retrograde.
Some important details are not clearly defined or the content may be unreliable or dishonest. Make sure you have a good backup of your computer files and also make sure that your car is in order.

Consider the energetic shift of Mercury retrograde from Air (Aquarius) to Earth (Capricorn) as a new opportunity to interact, rethink and prioritize your way into the future.

Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn from January 27, 2022 is different with the Moon’s Nodes on the Taurus/Scorpio axis. Capricorn is the father, the governing body, the authority, the hierarchy, the executive.
During Mercury retrograde in Capricorn, there will be more clarity about career, money and where you are going, but don’t expect everything to be in order just like that. A decision can have a lasting effect, something that is difficult to reverse immediately.

Shortly after February 4, 2022, when Mercury goes direct into Capricorn, you will be more aware of your personal authority, in your personality, company or group and you get the appreciation you deserve.

The riskiest days for decision-making, negotiations, communication and transportation are the few days leading up to Mercury’s retrograde and going direct, but in general we must expect unexpected circumstances during this retrograde period,

Mercury goes direct from February 4, 2022 at 24°22′ Capricorn and then Mercury in Capricorn forms a sextile with Pluto in Capricorn, the Moon and Neptune in Pisces which has a calming influence.

Mercury’s shadow period will last until February 24, 2022.
