Astrological forecast for December 2020
After the historic conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn at the beginning of January 2020, a conjunction that has only occurred twice in the past 2,000 years, the world has undergone a massive shift this year.
Looking back, the year 2020 was a turning point in which humanity had to anticipate major changes on many levels.
December ends the key year of 2020 with a roller coaster of fascinating events, such as a total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on December 14, 2020 and the third and final historical conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn of 2020 in unconventional Aquarius.
The conjunction Jupiter/Saturn in Aquarius marks the beginning of a new 200-year cycle and bridges an evolutionary period of growth and development into 2021.
Planetary giants and Jupiter and Saturn embody the rhythm of culture and history.
Every 20 years, Jupiter and Saturn form a conjunction, setting the tone for the next 20 years. Carried by this cosmic event, the rigorous earthly Capricorn energy of 2020 is being redirected into a hopeful future, a new dawn for humanity, a shift of consciousness and global awareness in culture, humanity, ethics, vision of the future, global emancipation and equality.
Global cooperation and innovation will become the pillars of this new world, the Aquarian Age.
The Age of Aquarius lasts no less than 2,160 years and is defined by the transition of the Earth’s axis from one constellation to another. From Pisces to Aquarius.
The preparation for this new era will take several decades, but 2020 is the last year of the outgoing Piscean Age and so 2021 will be the first year of the Aquarian Age.
In the years to come, we will witness a profound transformation of the world and society.
A new era of enlightenment and freedom is upon us.
Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius pave the way for Pluto’s long journey through Aquarius from 2024 to early 2044.
December 2020 kicks off with a note of optimism on December 2, 2020!
Mercury’s transit in fiery Sagittarius brings us a tolerant, direct, open-minded and optimistic energy until December 20, 2020.
Sagittarius is a Mutable Sign and with swift Mercury in Sagittarius, time will pass more swiftly than it already does.
In the first week of December 2020, we are in between two Eclipses, the Gemini Lunar Eclipse of November 30, 2020 and the Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius of December 14, 2020.
The first half of December 2020 therefore marks itself as an “interim period” of waiting and expecting.
The annual Geminid Meteor Shower will take place from 13 and December 14, 2020 with approximately 150 multicolored meteors per hour!
These “shooting stars” are debris from the asteroid 3200 Phaethon, discovered in 1982.
The Geminids get their name from the constellation Gemini, but in quirky Gemini style, these shooting stars can appear anywhere in the sky.
The only Total Solar Eclipse of 2020 will take place on December 14, 2020.
The last Eclipse of 2020, the Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius, is the sequel to the new Eclipse cycle in Gemini/Sagittarius, the polarity axis of information and belief systems, changing our perspectives and outlook on a collective level.
The Moon slides between the Earth and the Sun obscures the Light from the Sun.
This Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on December 14, 2020 paves the way for the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn on the first degree of Aquarius, which coincides with the Winter Solstice!
The path of totality is visible only in parts of southern Chile and Argentina, South America, Southwest Africa and Antarctica, the Southeast Pacific and the South Atlantic. The Moon is too far from Earth and does not obscure the Sun completely.
So there is a “ring of fire”, the Corona.

From December 15, 2020 asteroid Chiron turns direct again in fiery Aries.
Chiron was retrograde in Aries from July 11, 2020.
The universe sends us fiery healing energy on a global level. We can expect big news around this date that could be related to an effective new vaccine to suppress the Corona virus once and for all.
The great planetary shift of Saturn and Jupiter from Capricorn to Aquarius will take place from December 18 to December 20, 2020.
Saturn will enter the unconventional and forward-looking sign of Aquarius on December 18, 2020. After nearly three years, Saturn leaves behind the heaviness of its own sign Capricorn, the sign of control, government and tradition.
The great planetary shift of Saturn and Jupiter from Capricorn to Aquarius will take place from December 18 to 20, 2020.
Saturn will enter the unconventional and forward-looking sign of Aquarius on December 18, 2020. After nearly three years, Saturn leaves behind the gravity of its own sign of Capricorn, the sign of administrative forms and political tradition. Saturn has been in Aquarius this year from March 23 to July 1, 2020, a period that coincided with the first wave of the Corona virus and social distancing as a strict measure to limit the spread of the corona virus.
Saturn in Aquarius is an important factor in charting economic-political trends.
Saturn in Aquarius until March 2023 is about responsibility to fellow humans, civil rights and a more progressive voice for politics and government. Walls become open doors!
Barriers are being broken down and the old world is definitely paving the way for a new world.
Saturn is closely followed by the gigantic planet Jupiter. On December 20, 2020, Jupiter will also leave Capricorn’s straitjacket.
Jupiter (symbolizing our collective trends, future and making connections) is back in the visionary Aquarius after a journey of 12 years to think outside the box, to look further and to create new opportunities together as humanity. Our collective growth depends on all of us and the degree to which we are willing to move forward, to work together instead of working against each other.
Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius is not about individual achievement for the sake of achievement, but about the collective meaningful, positive, lasting contribution to the world as a whole such as more citizens’ initiative.
For the past two hundred years, the conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn have been in Earth signs.
The current Jupiter/Saturn cycle started in 1802 and was an Earth cycle. This Earth cycle was linked to the industrial revolution, consumerism and capitalism.
The energy will shift from Earth (consumerism, material values, money) to the element of Air (intellect, information, cooperation), a new 200-year cycle of conjunctions in the Air signs of Aquarius, Gemini and Libra. The next conjunction (in Libra) won’t be until 2040!
This astrological event in Aquarius marks the official beginning of a new awakening for humanity, the new dawn, a shift of consciousness.
The Beginning of The Age of Aquarius.
An era of major changes in the way we communicate and socialize is dawning.
Traditionally, the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn has been associated with the rise and fall of royals, governments and bulwarks of power.
With this historical conjunction comes recovery and improvement for all social, economic and political systems. This important astrological aspect is of great influence of individual and collective level.
However, the birthing process of a new world is difficult and painful.
The transition of a new era is always accompanied by a form of crisis, economic and cultural revolutions, climatic changes, a new perspective on religion and beliefs and we will certainly see these processes in 2021.
An increase in social marginalization and individualization has an impact on international affairs and in business, but also on families, such as violent generational conflicts and an increase in domestic violence and divorce.
Jupiter is all-encompassing and Saturn is limiting. But with the energy of this conjunction in the Air Sign Aquarius, realistic planned steps toward unprecedented growth can be realized.
Seen from Earth, the super conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the Air sign Aquarius on December 21, 2020 resembles a huge bright star in the southwestern sky.
Since the year 1623, this conjunction has not been so close to Earth.
The previous super conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Taurus was in 2000. The past 20 years embodied explosive growth in world trade and rapid development of technology, information and communications technology. They were also the years of individualization, globalization and economic recession.
The conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn on December 21, 2020 to early 2021 forms a catalytic square aspect with Uranus in Taurus. Tension arises in which we are forced to say goodbye to the old world for good and welcome the new related to the financial world and food sectors.
Until the end of March 2021, Uranus in Taurus, (the collective) continues to challenge Saturn in Aquarius, (the governing and controlling government) not to underestimate the collective strength of humanity.
No one can change our innate sovereignty and life’s core business, our freedom. No force can limit our growing evolutionary consciousness.
What must be released to make room for continued social, cultural and global progress?
In the next two decades, the world order will undergo a complete metamorphosis.
A new hierarchy and balance of power in world politics and economics.
The West will no longer set the global agenda, the Asian era is dawning.
The next twenty years will be dominated by internationalization with the danger of increased instability, globalization and cultural conflicts due to the spread of economic, political and military power. The United States will continue to lose its dominant position and the new world powers China and India will become increasingly influential. The development of new technologies and the further diffusion of existing technologies, such as bio- and nanotechnology. Of course there is also a downside to this story that puts pressure on relationships in the world.
The availability and distribution of raw materials will be of major economic and geopolitical influence in the coming decades, such as climate change, the unbridled growth of the world population and the increase in prosperity in emerging economies, especially in Asia, the scarcity of raw materials and a shortage of water in South Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The annual Ursid Meteor Shower in the constellation Ursa Minor, from Comet 8P/Tuttle, accompanies the entry of the Sun into Capricorn on December 22, 2020 which is the start of the new astrological year. The Winter Solstice falls on the shortest day and the longest night and is the feast of Yule, the feast of the rebirth of the Sun and the Return of the Light.
In the last week of 2020, Mars in Aries is at odds with Pluto in Capricorn.
On December 23, 2020 is the last exact square between Mars in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn.
We are then painfully confronted with the economic consequences of the severe economic measures that were taken around 13 August and 9 October 2020.
In the past six months, the conjunction of Mars and Eris in Aries has led to major challenges.
Fear and mistrust are a danger to community cohesion and resulted to a more divided society.
The Light and magic of Christmas is thus overshadowed this year by the volatile tension of the square Mars and Pluto in Capricorn, which creates a global explosive atmosphere with increased risk of violence, upheaval and attacks worldwide.
December 30, 2020 will host the last Full Moon of 2020, which is the second Full Moon in Cancer of 2020.
The first Full Moon of January 10, 2020 was a Lunar Eclipse in Cancer fell on the threshold of the conjunction Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn which was the beginning of (further) restrictions on the freedom of speech by governments and multinationals.

The year 2020 closes on December 31, 2020 with Venus in Sagittarius conjoining the South Lunar Node in Sagittarius. This aspect takes us back to the past, there may be feelings of regret about a lost love or regret about wrong financial or relationship decisions. The southern Lunar Node in Sagittarius (including higher education, information dissemination and social media) wants “the truth”, so it is all about distinguishing fact from fiction.
Not everything that is proclaimed on social media or distributed through news channels is true.
Stay critical, keep thinking and filter your own truth!
Of course there are cosmic energies that provide us with perspective and comfort.
The universe is in constant motion and so is humanity.
The collective responsibility for survival depends on our ability to stop taking life for granted.
However, in this divided world, it will be a long time before “things return to normal,” so don’t expect 2021 to paint a different picture.
In the summer of 2021, there will be a cautious recovery and a step-by-step return to normal life. The road to recovery and growth will be open again from 2022.
However, the world will have changed completely by then.
Wishing all my readers a merry Christmas, a safe and beautiful New Year’s Eve and an inspiring, loving and safe 2021.
