December 2024 is an intense and volatile month in which Mars and Pluto play the leading role.
There are two New Moons in December 2024 and that does not happen often.
December 2024 opens with the first New Moon at 9º33 in the fire sign Sagittarius on December 1, 2024.

The opposition of Mars in Cancer with Pluto in Capricorn arose in mid-October 2024.
This planetary opposition remains unmistakably present as a common thread in December 2024 and is an explosive astrological recipe for war, lust for power, disturbed power relations, demonstrations, destruction and escalation in the world.
Since October 15, 2024, Mars is on a collision course rin Cancer/Leo, with Mars retrograde forming an opposition with Pluto in Aquarius. An exact opposition of Mars in Leo with Pluto in Aquarius is on January 1, 2, and 3, 2025, and another exact opposition of Mars with Pluto in Aquarius follows on April 26 and 27, 2025.
The first two weeks of December 2024 are crucial, to say the least, due to the influence of retrograde Mercury in Sagittarius and retrograde Mars in Leo.
Mars opposite Pluto has traditionally been an explosive and difficult and incontrollable energy. High tension in the world, especially for Israel, Russia and the United States.
If this transformative planetary force were to be directed constructively, much would be possible in the world. Then construction can take place and there can be peace, but I do not expect an end to the wars, cruelties, unprecedented divisions and violence in the world for the time being.
On December 6, 2024, Mars at 6º 9’9 in Leo goes retrograde. Mars goes back into Cancer on January 7, 2025 and goes direct in Cancer again from February 24, 2025. From April 19, 2025, Mars is back in Leo and remains in Leo until June 17, 2025.

From December 7, 2024, Neptune turns direct again at 27º7.9 in Pisces. The distinction between dreams and reality becomes painfully clear with Neptune going direct in Pisces. Now that Neptune in Pisces is turning direct again, we’re being confronted with the dangers of uncontrolled imagination and wishful thinking. Many are waking up from the dream.
In the first two weeks of December 2024, it will become clear that the government, financial institutions and large companies have painted a false picture. With Mercury in Sagittarius retrograde until December 14, 2024 and Mars retrograde in Leo from December 6, 2024, rumination and revision of files, delays on the trade market, with sports competitions, travel or with transport must be taken into account.

The second half of December 2024 may be difficult due to challenges with financial systems, a trade war with China, obstacles with banks or payment systems or economic slowdowns due to the influence of the increasing tension between retrograde Jupiter and Saturn in Pisces.
From December 20, 2024, disappointing economic results and restrictions must be taken into account. Jupiter square Saturn takes us back to the end of 2020, to the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Capricorn (Corona crisis). Themes and lessons about boundaries, control and limitation, growing pains, responsibilities, sacrifices come back. Keep in mind that Covid or another infection will reappear.
The Sun’s entry into Capricorn on December 21, 2024, marks the official start of astronomical winter and the beginning of the new astrological year. The Winter Solstice coincides with the peak of the annual Ursid Meteor Shower in the constellation Ursa Minor. This meteor shower can be seen annually from December 17 to 25 and shows 5 to 10 shooting stars per hour. These are dust grains that originate from the comet Tuttle, which was discovered in 1790.
On Christmas Eve, retrograde Jupiter (14°01 Gemini) forms a second square with Saturn (14°01 Pisces). The first tension square was on August 19, 2024, Saturn at 17° Pisces and Jupiter at 17º Gemini. Saturn is the opposite force to Jupiter, which means that economic plans must be reconsidered. Jupiter square Saturn is a geopolitical tension field of growth and limitation, struggle, crisis of faith, dissatisfaction, disappointment or confusion about the economy, politics, moral values, good and evil. Financial markets are disrupted worldwide, there is social unrest and an increase in extreme natural disasters. Europe is faced with political instability, tumoil and loss of employment.
The third and final square is on June 15, 2025 with Jupiter (1º23 Cancer) and Saturn (1º16 in Aries).
The second clash between Jupiter retrograde in Gemini and Saturn in Pisces can seriously hamper economic growth and has a negative impact on consumer confidence, economic climate and confidence in the future. Jupiter square Saturn can feel like a cold shower, a reality check that will make it difficult to realize plans. Contradictions are even more apparent with Jupiter square Saturnf and that can be the prelude to an economic crisis that will have a major impact on our lives in the next five years. Substantial practical changes and a realistic perspective are urgently needed to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
A balance must be found in this polarized world that has never been so out of balance.
On December 28, 2024, Venus in Aquarius squares retrograde Uranus in Taurus and then there are unexpected economic developments or disruptions. A situation can escalate with only losers when impulsive action is taken. New perspectives are needed, because the old approach no longer works.
From December 29, 2024, asteroid Chiron goes direct in Aries again. Aries rules the Self, the will and our inner determination. Chiron represents the archetype of the Wounded Healer, as well as the wounded part of us that feels lonely, isolated and afraid to be different or to feel self-love.
On December 30, 2024, falls the second New Moon of December 2024, the New Moon in Capricorn. This New Moon in earthly Capricorn can be sobering and clarifies that there must first be a realistic plan, before one can even dream of financial wealth or long-term plans.

Retrograde Mars and Pluto in Aquarius form an almost exact opposition at the end of December 2024 and that can lead to a revolutionary climate in the world.
Due to the opposition of retrograde Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius and the square of retrograde Jupiter in Gemini and Saturn in Pisces, we are in a phase that is characterized by various forms of crisis and economic restrictions that temporarily hinder goals and desires.
We must try to find our happiness in the small things.
For the future, I see that major lasting changes are being set in motion that will take place in the next year 2025 and 2026. Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius will then work together to raise the collective consciousness in order to anchor the Aquarian Age.
With this historic planetary shift to the elements of Air and Fire, there will also be a shift in consciousness on Earth. The years 2024 and 2025 are transitional years on the way to a completely different world.
